Jewish Life Television, North America’s premiere 24-7 Jewish-themed television network, is proud to announce that it has acquired the television program Israeli Krav Maga. Beginning February 19, 2018, JLTV will broadcast Israeli Krav Maga, Monday through Friday at 4:30PM Eastern.
The term Krav Maga comes from Hebrew and means “contact combat.” Irme Lichtenfeld pioneered this technique in response to anti-Semitic riots breaking out in Central Europe in the run-up to World War II. After immigrating to Israel, he and his student Eli Avikzar further refined Krav Maga over the coming decades. Both the Israeli Defense Forces and the Israeli Security Forces ultimately adopted this form of self-defense and today, every Israeli soldier is trained in Krav Maga. In the 21st century, Krav Maga has become one of the most popular forms of self-defense training around the world.
Oren Mellul serves as host of Israeli Krav Maga. Mellul has over twenty years of experience in Krav Maga. He began his training in Krav Maga at the age of six and by the age of fourteen, he had received his black belt in Krav Maga, making him the youngest person in Israel to have attained that achievement.
Catch Israeli Krav Maga - Monday through Friday at 4:30PM Eastern - on North America’s Chosen Network, JLTV.
